Antanil Tablet: Each tablet contains Aluminium Hydroxide BP 250 mg and Magnesium Hydroxide BP 400 mg.
Antanil Suspension: Each 5 ml contains Aluminium Hydroxide Gel BP equivalent to Aluminium hydroxide BP 200 mg and Magnesium Hydroxide BP 400 mg.
Antanil is a non systemic antacid preparation capable of neutralizing the excess acid and healing up the ulcers.
• Hyperacidity
• Gastritis, heart burn and dyspepsia.
• Peptic ulcer, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer etc.
Tablet: After meal, 2 tablets 3-4 times daily by chewing or as advised by the physician. Suspension: After meal, 2 teaspoonful Antanil suspension 3-4 times daily or as advised by the physician.
Antacid should not be used if the patient has the deficiency of phosphate and in case of patient with kidney failure.
Antacid containing Aluminium Hydroxide should not be taken concomitant with any form of Tetracycline & Digoxin as the absorption of latter may be affected.
Antanil has little or no side effect. Diarrhoea or constipation may occur occasionally.
It is advised to avoid antacid preparations in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Antacids reduce absorption of different groups of drugs such as- Antibacterials, Antiepileptics, Antifungals, Antimalarials, Antipsychotics.
