Irisyn Tablet: Each film-coated tablet contains Mebeverine Hydrochloride BP 135 mg.
Irisyn is a musculotropic antispasmodic agent used to relieve cramps or spasms of the stomach and intestine. It is particularly useful in treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and similar conditions. It works by relaxing the muscles and helping to restore the normal movement of the gut.
Irisyn is indicated:
- For the symptomatic treatment of irritable bowel syndrome
- Other conditions include:
Chronic irritable colon
Spastic constipation
Mucous colitis
Colicky abdominal pain and cramps
Persistent non-specific diarrhoea
Adults, elderly and children over 10 years : One tablet three times a day, preferably 20 minutes before meal. After a period of several weeks when the desired effect has been obtained, the dosage may be gradually reduced.
children: Not recommended for children under 10 years.
Mebeverine is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product.
Neonates: Not recommended for neonates.
Children: The preparation is recommended for children over 10 years.
Generally Mebeverine is well tolerated. However, few side effects like skin rash, urticaria and angioedema may appear.
Pregnancy: No teratogenicity has been shown in animal experiments and therefore, there is no known teratogenic effect in human.
Concomitant use of two or more such drugs can increase side effects such as dry mouth, urine retention and constipation.
If you or someone else take more Mebeverine Tablets than you should (overdose), contact your doctor or hospital emergency department immediately.
Store in a cool (below 30°C) and dry place protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
