Dexlan 30 Capsule: Each capsule contains Dexlansoprazole INN 30 mg as enteric coated pellets. Dexlan 60 Capsule: Each capsule contains Dexlansoprazole INN 60 mg as enteric coated pellets.

Dexlansoprazole is a PPI that suppresses gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of the (H+, K+)-ATPase in the gastric parietal cell, resulting in potent inhibition of gastric acid secretion with prolonged elevation of intragastric pH.

Dexlan (Dexlansoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat- 1. Healing of all grades of erosive esophagitis 2. Maintaining healing of erosive esophagitis 3. Heart burn associated with non-erosive Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

Dexlan (Dexlansoprazole) capsule is administered orally. The recommended doses of Dexlansoprazole for adults are as follows: Healing of erosive esophagitis: 60 mg Once daily for up to 8 weeks, Maintenance of Healed erosive esophagitis and relief of heartburn: 30 mg Once daily for up to 6 months, Symptomatic Non-Erosive GERD: 30 mg Once daily for 4 weeks

Dexlan (Dexlansoprazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Hypersensitivity and anaphylaxis have been reported with Dexlansoprazole

Patients taking concomitant Warfarin may require monitoring for increases in international normalized ratio (INR) and prothrombin time. Increases in INR and prothrombin time may lead to abnormal bleeding and even death.

Side effects are rarely seen; such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, flatulence etc

Dexlansoprazole is considered a pregnancy Category B medication. This means that dexlansoprazole is probably safe for use during pregnancy, although the full risks are currently unknown.

Dexlan (Dexlansoprazole) may interfere with the absorption of drugs for which gastric pH is important for bioavailability (e.g., Ampicillin esters, Digoxin, iron salts, Ketoconazole).

There have been no reports of significant overdose of Dexlansoprazole. It is not expected to be removed from the circulation by hemodialysis. If an overdose occurs, treatment should be symptomatic and supportive.

Store in a cool (below 30°C) and dry place protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Dexlan30 Capsule: Each commercial box contains 10x10 capsules in Alu-Alu blister pack. Dexlan-60: Each commercial box contains 5x10 capsules in Alu-Alu blister pack.
