Inseac (Ranitidine) is a H2-receptor antagonist which inhibits acid secretion from parietal cell. It reduces the amount of secreted gastric juice and hydrogen ion concentration and also reduces the amount of pepsin. As a result the peptic ulcer is cured rapidly and ulcerative chronic pain is diminished. After 150mg oral dose of Ranitidine the peak plasma concentration reaches within 1-2 hour. Plasma protein binding is about 15%. Food or antacid does not interfere its absorption.
