Gatifloxacin Sesquihydrate + Dexamethasone
|0.3% w/v + 0.1% w/v
Gatifloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and Topoisomerase IV, the enzymes responsible for replication, transcription and repair of bacterial DNA. Dexamethasone suppresses the inflammation by decreasing the production of inflammatory mediators through the inhibition of the enzyme Phospholipase A2.
Dexon-G Sterile Eye Drops: Each ml Contains Gatifloxacin Sesquihydrate INN equivalent to Gatifloxacin 3 mg and Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate BP equivalent to Dexamethasone Phosphate 1mg.
Indications And Uses
Dexon-G Sterile Eye Drops is indicated for steroid responsive ocular inflammatory conditions with involvement of bacteria like blepharitis, scleritis, episcleritis, iritis, cyclitis, iridocyclitis, choroiditis, optic neuritis and chronic anterior uveitis, disciform and interstitial keratitis, allergic corneal marginal ulcers, corneal injury from chemical radiation or thermal burns.
Dosage And Administration
Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac 3 to 4 times daily.
Mild burning, chemosis, redness may occur.
For ophthalmic use only. If the product is used for 10 days or more, intraocular pressure should be monitored routinely.
Use In Pregnancy Lactation
pregnancy: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Dexon-G should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Lactation: Caution should be exercised when Dexon-G is administered to a nursing mother.
There are no known drug interactions.
Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out the reach of children. After one month of the opening do not use the medicine of dropper.
Contraindicated in fungal disease of ocular structures, viral conjunctivitis and in patients who are hypersensitive to any of the components of this preparation.
Dexon-G Sterile Eye Drops: Each plastic dropper bottle contains 5 ml of sterile eye drops.
