Description
Antanil Plus is a non systemic antacid preparation capable of neutralizing the excess acid and healing up the ulcers.
Composition
Antanil Plus Tablet: Each tablet contains Aluminium Hydroxide BP 400 mg, Magnesium Hydroxide BP 400 mg & Simethicone USP 30 mg. Antanil Plus Suspension: Each 5 ml contains Aluminium Hydroxide Gel BP equivalent to Aluminium Oxide BP 200 mg, Magnesium Hydroxide BP 400 mg & Simethicone USP 30 mg.
Indications And Uses
• Hyperacidity • Gastritis, heart burn and dyspepsia. • Gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, flatulence etc.
Dosage And Administration
Tablet: 1-2 tablets to be chewable half to 1 hour after or in between meals and at bedtime or as directed by the physicians. Suspension: 2-4 tea spoonful suspension half to 1 hour after or in between meals and at bedtime or as directed by the physicians.
Side Effect
Antanil Plus has little or no side effect. Diarrhoea or constipation may occur occasionally.
Precaution
Antacid containing Aluminium Hydroxide should not be taken concomitant with any form of Tetracycline & Digoxin as the absorption of latter may be affected.
Use In Pregnancy Lactation
It is advised to avoid antacid preparations in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Drug Interactions
All antacids may increase or decrease the rate and/or extent of absorption of concomitantly administered oral drugs. Antacids decrease the bioavailability of theophyline, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics, isoniazide, ketoconazole, ethambutol, some antimuscarinic drugs, benzodiazepines, phenothiazines, ranitidine, indomethacine, nitrofurantoin, fluoride, phosphate, propanolol, atenolol, digoxins, vitamins etc. Antacids increase the bioavailability of some drugs; e.g. sulphonamides, levodopa, valproic acid, enteric coated aspirin etc.
Storage
Store in cool and dry place, out of reach of children.
Contraindications
Antacid should not be used if the patient has the deficiency of phosphate and in case of patient with kidney failure.

Antanil Plus Tablet: Box contains 10 x 10's chewing tablets in blister strip. Antanil Plus Suspension: Bottle contains 200 ml of suspension.
