Lunarzine (Flunarizine) is the difluorinated derivative of Cinnarizine. It is a selective calcium channel antagonist. By reducing excessive transmembrane influx of calcium Lunarzin prevents cellular calcium overload. Lunarzine also has some antihistaminic and sedative properties. It is used as a prophylaxis for migraine. The preparation is available in tablet form with both 10mg and 5mg strengths.
